Sensors/Barcode Scanner

We have 3 accurate sensing methods for typical dry cleaners and hanger counting applications and a variety of sensor options for laundries (ironers, folders, etc).
Proximity Sensor
Works best for plants with a dedicated drop line from each pressing station to a central slick or screw rail.  For accurate counts, only 1 presser's garments can pass under the sensor
Photoelectric Sensor
Works best for plants that do not have a dedicated drop line. The presser will pass the hanger through an infrared beam before hanging the garment on a common slick rail, screw rail or rack.
Barcode Scanner
Barcode scanners will capture and record the scan date and time of each garment as well as who pressed it and where it was pressed.  This can be helpful finding stragglers or creating accountability for quality issues.  The PieceCounters can even integrate with most POS systems.

Laundry Installations

Laundry installations will vary depending on the plant and type of equipment.  We have a variety of sensors and mounting options that will adapt to all kinds of laundry equipment including flat work ironers, stackers, small piece folders, steam tunnels, mat rollers and more.  Please contact us for more information.

Cabling

The cabling utilizes standard Cat-5 Ethernet cables. You can use store bought lengths or build your own cables.* You can also hire any networking company to run your cables for you.

General

  • One operator interface is mounted at each pressing station.
  • Each operator interface requires a standard 110v outlet for power.
  • Each operator interface is networked using standard Cat-5 Ethernet cable to a router or switch which is connected to the Internet through your local network.
  • Each sensor is connected to its corresponding operator interface with a special 3-wire cable (which we provide).

* Caution: Building your own cables is only recommended for those with experience building Ethernet cables.
